On May 8-9, 2012 Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov paid an official visit to the State of Qatar

Euro 2012 diplomatic football tournament was held in Abu Dhabi with the participation of the Embassies of the member countries of UEFA. The Embassy of Ukraine and the Embassy of Poland to the UAE – countries that will host the final tournament of the 14th UEFA European Football Championship – acted as organizers of this sport event.

Consulate of Ukraine in Dubai started its work on April 5, 2012. The Consul of Ukraine in Dubai Mr. Petro Holoveshko has assumed charge of the Consulate.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Yuriy Polurez participated in the work of Ukrainian delegation that visited the capital of Qatar on March 26-29, 2012 in the framework of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference DIMDEX 2012. The delegation was led by Ukraine Navy Commander Admiral V.Maksymov.

On March 26-29, 2012 the first round of expert negotiations between the competent authorities of Ukraine and State of Qatar on the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Qatar on the avoidance of double taxation were held in Doha (Qatar)
